What do I need to change my address in Virginia?
There are four ways to change your address with the DMV:

Vehicle Registration Mailing Address
Complete this section if your vehicle is kept at a location different from your residence address and you need the DMV to send the vehicle registration notice to that address, or if you need to inform the DMV about a vehicle that is garaged at a location other than your home.

Tips for changing your Virginia Address
You can update your address online at the Virginia DMV website or by calling (804) 497-7100.
To change your address in person, visit a DMV customer service center with proof of identity, legal presence, Social Security number, two proofs of Virginia residency, and your previous state’s driver’s license (if applicable).
